MILANO JAZZ-DANCE COMBO is the new project by Gianni & Enzo Lo Greco, aka Lo Greco Bros (SoulStance / Quintetto Lo Greco), whose debut self-titled album draws from the great UK Jazz-Dance scene of the early 80s. Gianni & Enzo LoGreco are prominent figures of Milano's new jazz scene and as SoulStance and Quintetto Lo Greco they've released 5 albums on Schema Records, have been Gerardo Frisina's producers, worked with Nicola Conte, Rosalia De Souza, produced Mario Biondi's smash single “This is what you are” as well as collaborated with international acts such as Jobim and Lalo Schifrin.
This pair of Italian brothers has been influenced by be bop - latin and brazilian jazz as well as retro library soundtracks. Enzo and Gianni have been playing extensively in the last 20 years, receiving attentions and success primarily due to the originality of their dancefloor jazz, funk, latin and brazilian meltin pot. Enzo plays bass, all kinds of fretless bass. The numerous collaborations with jazz and fusion bands both live and in the studio have greatly contributed in shaping a personal direction in the search for new musical standards that he is constantly seeking. Gianni plays drums & percussion, his primary characteristic is an excellent technique of execution which added to a great creativity make of him an important reference for other artists in Italy and beyond.
Their experience has grown extensively through the years forming their tastes and the desire to create specific sonorities that find a meeting point with today’s new technology. At the end of the 90s they met Luciano Cantone, label manager and renowned producer of Schema Records. The collaboration between Luciano and Lo Greco brothers gave birth to SoulStance. The welcomed outcome was “En Route” their debut album for Schema Records in 1998, followed by "Act on", "Life Size" (2003) and "Lead the Way" (2006). Enzo & Gianni soon became prominent characters in the development of an ever-evolving jazzy sound typical of Schema, producing 3 albums for Gerardo Frisina as well as working with Nicola Conte, Rosalia de Souza amongst others and releasing 2 straight / modal jazz albums as Quintetto Lo Greco.
