Second single by THE LIBERATORS + exclusive new track

Published on Martedì, 04 Ottobre 2011

Hot on the tail of first single "Rags To Riches" and the super funky blaxploitation-style video that launched it (watch below), comes another track off the debut self-titled album by new funky afrobeat combo from Sydney THE LIBERATORS. Second single "Let It Go" features vocals by one of Aussie's leading ladies Roxie Ray over the lazy afro-groove provided by the band. Included in the bundle download is also the instrumental version of this cut, as well as a super exclusive unpublished gift track that The Liberators cooked up especially called "Crisis Point", which brings some extra afro-funk heat with its infectious rhythm and bubbling percussion. That's a total of 3 tracks for the price of 1!

And that's not all the band has been up to. Following a successful double gig supporting fellow Aussie afrobeat outfit The Public Opinion Afro Orchestra in Sydney and Katoomba in September, The Liberators are once again ready to hit the stage for an afro-funk extravaganza supporting legendary musician and arranger from Ethiopia Mulatu Astatke, best known for his soundtrack to Jim Jarmusch’s Film “Broken Flowers” and “Ethiopiques” compilation series. The event is organized by Jazz Rooms and will be taking place at The Factory Theatre in Sydney on December 2nd. If you're a fan of African rhythms living in the Southern hemisphere, this is for you!
