2016 RECAP

With 5 artist albums, of which 3 debut LPs (Marta Ren & The Groovelvets, The Tibbs and Il Complesso di Tadà), the first live LP by our cinematic funk champs Calibro 35, heavily awaited comebacks of Hannah Williams & The Affirmations and Pama International and the usual bunch of 45s releases - the superior vinyl format - on top, you can imagine that it has been a super busy year at #TheBunker. FEBRUARY - We kicked off w/ Portuguese Soul Sister Marta Ren & the Groovelvets and their explosive debut LP "Stop Look Listen". The album that is pure dynamite follows the best tradition of the Soul Sisters of the 60s, and has been listed among the biggest releases of 2016 by Mr Craig Charles (BBC6).

MAY - We introduced one of the new hottest new name on the retro Soul scene, The Tibbs from Holland with the album Takin’ Over. As well as for Marta Ren, also The Tibbs’ debut album went straight in Craig Charles' “Biggest releases of 2016” list on BBC6.

JUNE - From Deejay TV-Discovery Channel's TV Show, we introduced Il Complesso di Tadà, the super band directed by Massimo Martellotta (Calibro 35) devted to the grooviest and hip-shaking side of Italian mid 60s Italian TV Shows music.

OCTOBER - Our cinematic funk champions Calibro 35 released their very first live album CLBR35 Live From S.P.A.C.E. The album quickly topped the charts and went straight to #2 on the Italian official vinyl chart.

NOVEMBER - It was the time for Hannah Williams’ comeback along with her new super-tight band The Affirmations four years after her heavily acclaimed debut A Hill Of Feathers lp. The album is receiving excellent feedbacks all around the globe, including album of the month at FIP (France National Radio) and several plays by Jamie Cullum on his BBC Radio 2 show.

DECEMBER – Last but not least, we announced another come-back: after a 7-years break, the iconic Rocksteady Dub & Soul combo Pama International are back on the scene with the new single Heatwave. Heatwave has already picked by global airplay including Don Letts, Craig Charles and David Rodigan.
