THE UNDERBELLY new website onlinePublished on Venerdì, 26 Marzo 2010
With a track on MO' RECORD KICKS compilation, 45 "I Keep Heading On feat. Roxie Ray" / "Cold Toast", and debut full-length CD/LP "Seven feet Under" all out now in the best stores around the globe, The Underbelly are definitely on the fast track to becoming a notable name of the contemporary funk scene.
In light of their growing popularity, the band has set up a new website at www.theunderbellyfunk.com, through which fans can keep track of their shows, releases and news. Future performances include the album launch party at The Eden Project tomorrow evening, and gigs at Plymouth Jazz and Blues Festival on May 7th, at the Lost Fest in Lostwithiel on May 16th, at prestigious Glastonbury Festival from June 23rd to the 27th, and at Trasimeno Blues Festival in Italy on July 31st. For those unable to attend any of these events, you can always tune in to where it all started, on The Craig Charles Funk & Soul Show on BBC 6 for an Underbelly live session this Saturday April 3rd, (which you can listen to by visiting the BBC website here).
DJ support of this outfit has not only come from Craig Charles (The Funk & Soul Show on BBC 6) who defined The Underbelly "the find of the year" on his radio show, but also from Nik Weston (Mukatsuku / Guynamukat), Eddie Piller (Acid Jazz / BBC 4), Diesler (Tru Thoughts / Freestyle), DJ Andy Smith, Pete Isaac (Jelly Jazz / Phonic FM), and Adrian Gibson (Freestyle), as well as many others that have been playing their tunes on the radio and leaving positive feedback on the album. If you haven't done so already, we highly recommend checking out this band and their debut full-length, guaranteed to get you head-nodding to the beat!
