Updates from the world of DOJO CUTSPublished on Lunedì, 20 Settembre 2010
Fans of DOJO CUTS need no longer squirm with impatience, the band has gotten together with Roxie Ray once again in order to produce a limited edition killer 45 with two brand new tracks that are not present on their debut Record Kicks full-length. RK45040 "Grand Carnival" / "Ain't So Low" is available now on 45/Digital Download on the RK website and can be bought in all the best stores worldwide from November 4th. In addition, a new afrobeat formation including, amongst other, members of Dojo Cuts has joined RK and is scheduled to release their first album later in the Winter.
Since the self-titled debut dropped early in 2009, Australian giants Dojo Cuts have exploded onto the contemporary scene with their classic brand of funk topped by the raw vocals of chanteuse Roxie Ray. Though at work on a second album, some members of Dojo have also been busy on another project. New afrobeat formation THE LIBERATORS is scheduled to release a highly anticipated debut album in February 2011, which mixes jazz-dance grooves, afrobeat, soul and deep funk to produce some seriously unique grooves and melodies. This new project can already count on the support of connoisseurs such as Gilles Peterson (BBC 1) and Russ Dewbury (The Jazz Rooms), so watch for it cause it's gonna be big!
