Record Kicks presents “Beck & Call”, a new extract from The Sextones’ awaited album “Love Can’t Be Borrowed”, produced by Monophonics frontman Kelly Finnigan and scheduled for release on September 29th via Record Kicks. The new extract “Beck & Call” is out now on digital platforms, watch the live video filmed at the historic Washoe County Downtown Library in Reno, NV. Thanks to a collaboration with our mates at Ohio’s Soul institution Colemine Records, the track is also coming out on limited edition 7” out on August 18th on black and “opaque pink” vinyl colors. The 45s are available for pre-order on Colemine Records’ website.

“Beck & Call” follows the first two singles “Better Late Than Never” and “Without You”, which received worldwide support from stations such as KCRW Santa Monica, KEXP Seattle, WYEP Pittsburg, BBC Radio 6 UK, FIP Radio France and Radio Capital Italy just to name a few. Sophisticated, suave, and masterfully composed, both the album and the 45 are like a sonic love letter to late 60s and early 70s soul, nodding to the giants of the genre and bowing to its unsung heroes. Drawing from their upbringings steeped in the sound, front man and guitarist Mark Sexton and bassist Alexander Korostinsky knew they wanted an album to highlight their old-school bona fides while leaving room for innovation. They found that balance in marathon recording sessions at Finnigan’s Transistor Sound studio in San Rafael, California.
